OPAC Software and Hosting Services
After a year and half of preparation, SENYLRC announces
the availability of a new Online Public Access Catalog OPAC service targeted
to hospital and other special libraries. Though a SENYLRC group license arrangement
with Mandarin Library Automation, Inc., special libraries will be able to upgrade
to the latest Mandarin software with its enhanced features and improved interface.
Participating libraries can choose to offer their catalogs in-house on computer
workstations as well as use SENYLRC hosting services for their individual web-based
OPAC. Minimal fees have been adopted by the SENYLRC Board so that SENYLRC can
continue offering this important service to special and hospital libraries at
a cost effective price. A by-product of the service is that holdings of the
hospital and other special libraries using this OPAC service will simultaneously
be available to the region through the SEAL Virtual Catalog service. For more
information contact Patricia Carroll-Mathes or Judy Fischetti at SENYLRC.
