Technology Support Clerk — The Hurley Library

Job Summary: Oversee library technology including but not limited to patron computers, staff computers, and loaning library technology equipment. Handle and resolve patron technical issues. 

Essential Duties:  
-Installation, preventive maintenance and minor repair of all computers and other peripherals
-Performs help desk duties for staff and patrons
-Maintains library technology plan
- Assists patrons with online library services including but not limited to Hoopla, Libby, Overdrive, and Kanopy.
-Provides assistance in use of equipment and software to both patrons and staff
-Teaches monthly technology classes based on patron interest
- Prepares specifications for the purchase of computer software, hardware, supplies, and other equipment
-Attends appropriate meetings, workshops, and seminars
-Assists in grant application processes and E-Rate funding
-Other duties as assigned

-Ability to interpret and communicate computer problems
-Good communication skills, both verbal and written
-Ability to interact with patrons and staff openly, courteously, skillfully, and accurately
-Ability to train/assist others in the use of equipment, software, and related items
 -Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl and lift heavy equipment  
 
Minimum Qualifications
-Associate degree in computer science or related field and up to two years of related experience 
-Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot PC and network-related hardware 
-Must be able to work well with non-technical staff and patrons
 
 
Hours/Pay
15 hours per week starting at $20.00 an hour
