Southeastern has several resource sharing services available for member libraries and their patrons. See below for descriptions of each service. For more information on any of these services, contact Resrouce Sharing and Cataloging Librarian Kelsey Milner at kelsey@senylrc.org.
SEAL: SEAL is Southeastern’s resource sharing platform. SEAL connects libraries of all types in the Southeastern N.Y. region and allows them to easily share books, DVDs, and other resources. It is available at no cost to all libraries in the region. There is a libguide available for current or interested SEAL users. It includes training materials such as the SEAL manual, tutorial videos, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Medical Information Services Program (MISP): Through MISP, Southeastern can fill medical or consumer health related inter-library loan requests at no cost to regional libraries. These requests can be placed via our ILL form at www.senylrc.org/illrequest. Libraries with OCLC can also send a lending request directly to Southeastern (ZSE).
OCLC Referrals: Governing members of Southeastern receive 25 free ILL requests a year through OCLC Worldshare. These requests can be for materials of all types and subjects. These requests can be placed via our ILL form at www.senylrc.org/illrequest.
Guest Borrowing Libguide: Southeastern maintains a directory of academic libraries in the area that offer guest and community borrowing of their materials. It includes information on each library’s guest borrowing policies and the availability of on-site resources.
Resources for Inter-library Loan: A guide with a variety of resources for ILL practitioners. Among other topics, it includes information on state and national conferences, relevant list-servs, publications, copyright, and open access resources.
